Agree COMPLETELY with the traveler lines. In fact, in a bit of counter-intuitiveness, these days, when I travel, I actually pick the family/bunny slope (if you will) line, which is invariably shorter and usually faster than the so called black diamond expert lines.

My recommendation for the current travel season is to (a) consider yourself luggage - http://www.feld.com/wp/archives/2009/11/pretending-you-are-luggage.html - and practice sleeping while in the middle seat.

Finally someone posts travel horror stories but puts them into perspective! There really are a million worse things which could be happening to your right now.

LOL. As a frequent flyer to Midway on Southwest, I know exactly which line you're talking about. The trick once you get into that line is to stay towards the xray machine on the right hand side. The one on the left seems like a shorter line, but it winds another 15-20 feet in what is either the greatest example of airport deception or an optical illusion.

Also the $10 for EarlyBird check-in is sooo worth it, even if you're paying out of your own pocket.

This is an interesting topic I agree with it. I highly recommended.
